James C. Washburn

James (Pep) Washburn (b. 1949) born in Wisconsin, has travel extensively through the wild regions of North America.


His explorations have taken him from Mexico and the Bahamas to the Coast Mountains of British Columbia and Canada’s Ellesmere Island, 500 miles from the North Pole. Whether by canoe, hiking, single engine plane, snowshoes or pickup truck, North America’s wild places and indigenous people are the essential ingredient of life underpinning an inclusive worldview.  

He spent thirty-three years in public education and was nominated for Wisconsin Teacher of the Year in 1983. His first book, Touching Spirit: The Letters of Minominike, hasbeen published internationally by Zahrada Publishing of Turkey and Kal-ba Publishing of USA. 


His new release, Beyond the Last Oak will be released In January.
